Sorry for the long post, but IMPORTANT.
I shared a great video from a fellow stylist and salon owner on both my Facebook pages. My shear freedom, llc one is public. When I watched this I almost felt like I was watching/listening to myself speak, but she just did a way better job at holding back the tears than I would have done, as most of you know I am quite an emotional person. She was able to explain what has been happening with our industry and the effects of Governor Sununu making the decision to open up salon.
I understand that I am a one chair salon, but I am still a business and I have to abide by all the rules and guidelines like every other salon. I am extremely blessed and fortunate to have great relationships with my clients and I care for you all which makes the decision hard, as I want to keep you all safe. I also need to consider my family and me. Yes, me and I have a hard time doing that. I am unfortunately immunocompromised, so I need to be extra cautious. I have maybe left my home 5 times in the last 6 weeks just to go for a ride and have a change of scenery, with one of the times including having blood work done. I am grateful that I have been staying healthy and I know everyone wants me to stay that way. Again, just a lot to consider and very overwhelming.
This is just a lot, so please give me a few days to make my decision, as to when I will open and how I will open. I need to make sure I can get all the supplies I will need and to process the new guidelines along with processing my own thoughts.
When I made the decision 15 years ago, on a leap of faith, to open my own salon and to be my own boss while doing what I love I was nervous and excited. Well that dream became my reality 13 years ago. I was able to open my doors and soon the nerves started to diminish. I still love what I do. I am, however, back to the nervous and excited feeling, as there is so much to think about. I am looking forward to opening up again, but I am just not sure when and I know when I do the nerves will eventually start to diminish again.
I miss and love you all!!!
I look forward to helping you all express your own kind of beautiful SOON!
